Go Knights!!
Updates and Information!
SSR stands for Silent Sustained Reading.  All High School
Seminar students are reading 30 minutes everyday to help
increase the reading levels of all first-time ninth graders.
Each day they keep track of how long they
read, the number
of pages they read, and they respond to their reading by
answering prompts in their SSR journals.
What exactly is SSR?
Time Capsule Letters!
This week my students are writing their time capsule letters.
These letters contain information about their likes and
dislikes, who their friends are, and their ideas about the
future.  When they are seniors, they will receive these letters
from me through their NSTEP class to remind them of how
they used to be and how much they have grown as people
and as students.
What's coming up?
Later this week and next week, we will be discussing
conflicts and the best ways to handle them.  Students will
think independently, work in groups, and perform skits
during class.
